Remembering the 2020 Lockdown

Today, I'm remembering the Lockdown.

I kept working, making sure my coworkers could do it from home.

I was alone at work, thinking how I was going to protect my family from the pestilence that still threatens us. Due to stress, I was partially blind in my right eye (central serous retinopathy). But I kept working. I felt very useful. Many people were depending on me.

I protected my family: Until today no one has gotten sick (Thank you Lord).

The systems for which I am responsible continued to function without failures, with an uptime of 100%

I provided my family with everything they needed. They did not miss anything. Yet, I lived in terror every day, thinking that in case the situation worsened, I would have to take drastic measures.

My home computer was running Folding @ home 24 hours a day, in an attempt to help, at least with a grain of sand, the people who were trying to defeat the attacker.

Today I see people happily walking down the street, without a mask, believing that they're "indestructible", that they will not get sick because they are vaccinated ... You know what? Many vaccinated people have fallen prey to the pestilence and some have died.

The vaccine is just another layer of protection: Is like a computer antivirus: If you're so stupid to disable it or force it to the limit, your computer will be infected.

And worst of all is that the "unmasked" laugh at those of us who know what is happening, who wear a mask to protect ourselves and others.

And you have to be avoiding them on the street while they laugh, cough, eat ... without any care, as if COVID-19 had never existed.

As Cypher said in the Matrix: "Ignorance is Bliss".
